OK, enough of these difficult mandates. It's summer/winter, time to take it
easy. The new mandate is "Local Geography." Take a shot of something in your
area that typifies the local geography. We're a pretty diverse group, and
I'd like to see a little something about where you all live. Try to keep it
+- 20 miles of your home, if you would. We don't want people living in
northeast Massachusetts submitting pictures of the Grand Canyon.

Let the complaints begin...

Oh man! I can't do a studio shot?!

It's cool.  There's plenty of stuff to take pictures of.

How does the Grand Canyon sound?

No. Studios are for shooters who can't handle reality. ;-)

Sounds great, I'll meet you there. You live near the canyon? If you do,
something unique would be super.

Go to the bottom of the canyon, super wide angle, shoot straight up -
a picture of the sky. That's a view that would be original to me.

I don't.

But I do live near a "gorge".  I might have to pack the camera up and
snap some shots.
