Hi.

I am thinking about buying a Nikon CoolScan V ED Film Scanner to
digitize my vast 35mm neg collection. Has anyone here used the
following combination: Nikon CoolScan V ED, PowerMac G5, OS X 10.3
Panther, & Photoshop 7? If so, I would love to hear your comments
regarding this setup....good, bad or otherwise. Any incompatibility
issues? Many thanks!

I wouldn't be caught dead using a mac, but what I can tell you is that
the coolscan V creates a .tif file from it's own software and the scan.
Photoshop will have no problem reading a .tif file, no matter what
version of photoshop you are using.  (by a quirk, I only end up using
even numbered versions of photoshop (2,4,6,8))

Also, the Coolscan is USB 2.0 (USB 1.1, but I never tried that), so you
will have to judege the compatibility to Powermac yourself.
