I recently decided to try the Russia Zorki cameras and got one with
the Leica like bottom load (Zorki-5 with telescoping I-50).  I can see
how to load it but how do the Leica clones and real bottom loading
leicas get the film firm up against the film gate???

This is the principal issue that puts me off using mine.
You can understand why they brought in the fast loading system on the M4

thanks for that.  It answered a lot of questions.  That photo showing
the film path (Yellow line) shows how tension is kept.  Its easy to
see that if it went over the take up spool it would be looser.

Now I know why the Soviets adopted CONTAX/Kiev style back for their
Leicas.
