The one on the far right in the front (the Fit to be Tide) girl is not bad. A
friend said the one beside her looks like one of the Wayans brothers.

I'm glad you motivated me to take a closer look. Of course you're nuts.
Remind me never to let you arrange a marriage for me.
Bret/Annika, I think a different downsampling algorithm would produce
better results (make the girls look prettier). Pre-blur Lanczos with
post-sharpening would be my best guess. Which algorithm did you use?

You're not kidding.

If you want to improve the girls' looks, I think you'd get better
results with a Gaussian blur of about 30 pixels.

I use Photkit Sharpener from Pixel Genius.
I'd be interested in hearing about other sharpening methods like the one you
describe if you want to e-mail me.

Hmm, if anything I think this picture has too much sharpening.
Look at the legs of the UAM woman on the top row far right,
or the cheeks and forehead of the woman top row 4th from the left.
Both seem oversharpened.
Here's a study of down-sampling methods by Bart van der Wolf.
Of course it depends on the pixel dimensions of the original.
My e-mail is on the Organization website above.

Did you try Photoshop Bicubic Smoother and Sharper, then decide
Photkit Sharpener was better?

My guess is you wouldn't complain too much if any of them were "bobbing for
apples"
