Actually it's a laugh at Canon's best lens. Who'd pay $2k+ for a 50mm
lens that provides chromatic aberrations at no extra charge? LOL.
No chromatic aberrations from this Sigma lens with Kenko 1.4x extender.
Unlike the Canon F/1.4 "top of the range" 50mm lens that cost more than
this lens and extender combined. ROTFL...
You listening out there Bret? This one is for you sweetheart!
Aussie, aussie, aussie.

This is why most Canon shooters buy the 85/1.4 Nikkor and us an Nikkor/EOS
adapter ring. God, I love that 85/1.4.

You better get your facts straight there Douglas. Since when has the
Canon 50mm f1.4 lens been $2k+?
Which by the way is an extremely sharp lens and perfect for portraits
and weddings.
OTOH your Sigma 50mm f1.4 lens is far more expensive, and inferior to
Canon.

Australia Helen, Australia. It's the centre of the universe don't you
know? Next week it will be the currency by which all other currencies
are measured.

Good gawd, what awful bokeh!
Oh well, nothing that can't be fixed with a little Gaussian Blur. For
this one I'd recommend a GB setting of about 1000 pixels.
Or better yet, use this quick fix to improve the pic.
Add an Adjustment Layer.
Select the new layer and choose Edit/Fill.
Fill with the color of your choice.
Delete the original Background layer.

The Canon F/1.4 goes for around $325.
I believe you are thinking about the Canon F/1.2, which goes for
around $1400.
Sigma’s 50mm f/1.4 is around $500.
Me I use the Canon 50mm f/1.8, works great for me and cost around $90.
If I am going to puta lot of money into a lens it is going to be
either longer or shorter then 50mm, at 50mm it does not take a lot of
money to make a really good lens.

Canon FX + 50mm f/1.2 + Portra 150VC
Beats any currently available 35mm form factor digital

The 50mm f/1.2 is good in the center, but in the corners the f/1.4
will
beat it, even the f/1.8 is sharper in the corners.

It might surprise you to learn Ken that I have a program from DxO which
fakes just about any of the exceptional films. But I agree, Portra VC is
close to untouchable by digital cameras...
It's the other half of the story I sold for a few hundred bucks. That is
missing. Gone is the smell of chemicals. Replaced by the smell of inks.
Gone is the paper processor, Durst enlarger - with a digital head and
then I turned the darkroom into a wide format, digital playroom.
There's more HD video edited in there these days than still video. In
fact... I'm about to sell my personal wide format inkjet. Not enough
room for it on a boat!
I bought another Mamiya last week 645 AF. I'll eventually buy a digital
back for it and substitute the quantity of wedding photography for the
quality of a quieter life and foreign people.
