Far be it for me to miss out on a thread... All this display of mono
imagery, I just had to do it.

I hope the customer was pleased with the image. I find the sky a bit
distracting. The brightness above the building draws the eye away from
the main subject, the bride and groom. A slightly tighter crop of from
the second piling in front of the couple to the first one behind, for
horizontal. Then to just above the building in the background and
across would have brought the couple more to the foreground; removed
the distracting bright sky;kept the boats name in the image.

The tone and contrast, as far as I can tell on my moniter, looked dead
on. The expresion and posing of the couple is quite nice.

Of course this is just my two cents of opinion.

oops, I meant in front of the second piling. First one is next to the
couple. The name on the boat is just foward of the piling.

What? Crop out that old gaff rigged ketch? Sacrilege!

When they are old and bored with each other they still have the old yacht
to look at.

Just kidding.

Yes, it is a bit "all inclusive" but as I imagine they have plenty of other
tighter shots I doubt that they would object to including some of the more
evocative scenery among their memories.

The only point I have, and it is a personal taste/style thing, (I'm
obviously getting old... ) is the bride is still fully kitted out, the
groom is casual with his jacket off. It looks as though she is getting a
hug from a bus boy.

Regards

Tony

I'm sure her new husband will get a kick out of that one!
He's a Doctor of Psychology! I couldn't get him to keep his coat on for
any of the shots.

So one day while seeing him about your multi-personality disorder you
happened to slip into Julian mode and mention you were a wedding
photographer and he said he would give you a few free sessions if Julian
shot his wedding.

Thank you Draco. Your 2 cents is always welcome.

The sky is actually a problem for me too. I toned it down in the canvas
version. One issue with displaying a small version of  near life-size
picture is just as you said. The point of image is hard to make out.
That issue goes away as the size of the picture increases.

It hangs on the wall very nicely. Eye hight for the couple and the rest
is not distracting.
