So is it settled?  Are you selling it?
It's a mighty nice car, but the 1DsMKIII is a dream come true.
Whatever you decide I wish you every bit of happiness!
BTW:  The mighty Jewel is NOT for sale!

That is one ugly beast!  I hope you can find a sucker that will entertain an
offer.  I've never seen one of them on the road.  I don't know which is
uglier that thing or a Honda Element?

I hope to Hell you aren't talking about The Mighty Jewel.

Hell no!  Poor Jewel looks so disgusted he won't even piss on that thing.
He has an image to maintain and you just ruined it for him by putting that
blue monstrosity next to him.

You should know that The Mighty Jewel, unlike yourself, is a she.

BTW, Rita, does that 18-month thing apply to Toyotas?

LOL!  If I had any say in the matter I would apply the 18-day rule and throw
a tarp on that thing till it was sold.  That thing doesn't do anything for
your image.  Sell it and buy a vehicle you will enjoy.

Not any more than it applies to D-SLR's.

Man that is ugly!!! I can see why they gave it as a prize, I couldn't
imagine anyone parting with money for that!! Sorry Brett, you might have to
pass on the 1DsIII - I doubt the proceeds of the sale will get you a Kodak
Disposable!

I guess it's about time to fund another new DSLR body and some glass.
Damn it's BLUUE though.
Love the hound :)
Hope you get a buyer soon. I will be selling my 1996 S600 in the next
few months. I would be interested to see how your sale goes.
Regards,
'duck

I thought foreign vehicles were frowned upon in the South? On my trips
through the South I always take the Honda name plate/emblem off the
Accord and stick on a Studebaker moniker.

Not hardly.  Most of them are made here in the South.

From Wikipedia:

"All FJ Cruisers are built by Hino Motors in Hamura, Japan."

Dude! Don't you know they make BMWs in Spartanburg SC, Mercedes-Benz in
Birmingham, AL, Toyota in Lexington, KY?

... and I think Honda has a plant in TN

It's the US manufacturers who've closed their southern plants.

Saw one just like it yesterday evening... looks like a fun SUV but
2-door... that really sucks.  How much gas does it suck?

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/23035.shtml

Ouch! (19 Gal. Tank @ $2.80 / gal = $47.60 to fill up (17 Gal.)).

17 Gal will take you 16*17 = 272 miles.  OUCH!

    (440 km / tank... that's gotta hurt).

You will definitely get more mileage with a 1Ds Mk III.

Cheers,
Alan

Where did you find PREMIUM @ $2.80/gal?

Amen to that!.
My Mitsubishi 4x4 micro bus had a turbo charged, intercooled diesel.
It was imported second hand from Japan (never sold 'em new in Aus). It
could barely manage 12 mile to the (imperial) gallon around town. Less
on the beach and maybe without a head wind, 15 -18 on the highway.
Someone said I' get more mileage if I uncoupled the trailer from it
but I reckon it looks cool towing a house boat through the desert!
You can't have all that sheet metal and steel and not need some grunt
to haul it around. Fuel in Australia is a little cheaper that you
quote but not so much less I can see much spare change.

Get rid of it Bret. Personal plates on this baby will just make it
(and you) a target for thieves. Besides... Have you priced insurance
for it yet? If you thought the Altima was long lasting and cheap to
own, guess what? - they are. Just wait for the bill from the second
service of this blue baby hits you and you'll need to have the title
to the ranch handy for the bank loan. And you thought a Mk III was
expensive? Not even in the league with this truck!

Don't forget the 1Ds you said I could have too, when you finally do
unload it, will you?

16mpg yikes, yes I've seen them around, pretty cool looking in a
transformers/tonka toy way but big.

Indeed.
