I picked up my new mecablitz 76 MZ-5 digital flash yesterday. 250 Klm
drive to get it but it was worth the effort!

Put a sock on it! Never better advice!

This far from tame gull has eluded a one shot solution with a DSLR for
many months. The almost pure black of it's tail and the almost pure
white of it's crest along with strong sunlight guarantees the contrast
range is too far out for any digital except the Fujifilm S5 but I only
have one lens for that beauty.

So... I bought a pair of white cotton socks on the way down to the
marina. Armed with my new Metz, No Canon interface (it will still fire
in auto mode)  I shot this with the centre of a bracketed group. How
good are Metz? The Best!

I think your sock has a hole in it.
