For the British, they drive on the wrong side. Also, the first sign allows
turning left in double but it's not what is painted on the road and on the
second sign. Sue them.

Looks like the 2 white-on-black signs disagree: closer says middle
lane is left & straight, further says middle lane is straight only,
which matches the arrows painted on the road.
And that's not a dead skunk hanging from the back of the left-most
640 sign is it?
Oh wait, I see it now: it's Canada and there's no snow!
;)

Yep, everyone saw it... I wonder why the road people don't ... there's
another odd bit of signage nearby, I'll keep my camera handy and try to
get that one too.

That would be a baaad spot for any grade of pedestrianism; I see a
two-wheeled motorized cycle rider getting under way, left foot just
off the ground.

Come to Toronto or Montreal in mid July. That's our coldest month.
Lots of snow!

I don't understand this. - How can July be your coldest month? Canada is in
the Northern Hemisphere, and Toronto and Montreal aren't even near the
Pacific, so they both get strong seasonal changes......

LOL! Bill, don't you recognize sarcasm when you see it?

Oh. - It's because I don't follow the thread closely enough....I just see a
statement put of context and respond with a jerk-knee reaction........
It's is interesting that the seasonal extremes should be greater in the
Southern hemisphere because the earth is closer to the sun during their
Summer. Here in the Northern hemisphere, the earth is further from the sun
during the Summer. I say, "should be" because I haven't seen any statistics
that prove that they really are.

LOL, don't worry about it Bill. I happens to us all.

That IS interesting indeed. And with global warming things are
certainly becoming more strange.

Not bringing the camera up to the left eye when taking the shot?

My immediate reaction was that the whole thing looked odd - a number
of the elements look cut and pasted. Some odd focus discrepancies,
seemingly missing shadows and things like the rightmost traffic lights
above the strangely sharp 50 sign (look at the other signs nearby),
being in a very odd location, and do you Canadites really need that
many advisory signs?? All looks a bit fake to my constantly and often
annoyingly skeptical eye.

It looks odd because it's a side view. It makes sense when seen from the
road. We need so many signs because in a blizzard you can only discern one
sign at a time.

135mm lens on a cropped sensor and then cropped further. The only
"manipulation" was to USM the image (without critical care).
Otherwise known as compression. From the nearst sign to the cyclists is
a range of about 300 - 350 meters. From the sign to the lights, over 200m.
Having driven in Madrid recently, I assure you that we are sign poor...
Cheers,
Alan

That's funny! Quebec is known as a place with NO traffic signs! Just try to
find an address sometime - most of the streets don't have posted name signs. I
wish I had a nickel for every time I've come up to a street corner to see where
I am and there's no sign... it's really bad in Montreal North...
The area in that photo is relatively new 'burbs - that explains all the signs...
and some towns have more money for them, but I zoomed into that photo and didn't
see any name sign...
> All looks a bit fake to my constantly and often

All looks normal to me... there is a lot of compression in that image...
