The serial number indicates that this camera was sold during the first year
of SP production.  It thus probably has a cloth shutter.  The later cameras
with metal shutters command and deserve higher prices.  The lens marking
means:
S = 7 elements (just like all 50mm f1.4 Nikkor lenses)
red c = coated (just like all Nikkor lenses)

If the shutter ever needs to be repaired, there is a high potential for the
camera to be a paperweight.

Cloth curtains and tapes can be easily made to replace old damaged ones.
Even metal curtains can be replaced.

Not quite true.  The guy at cameraquest won't.

The entire shutter gets replaced.  The shutter in the SP is the same as the
one in the F.  So, replacement shutters are quite plentiful.  By the way,
the last time I looked at cameraquest, he wan't $375 to replace the metallic
shutters on either the SP or the S3.

Careful people can insure that their shutters work well.  The one in my S2
has no holes and needs no cleaning.
