Who does this image represent?

We have several people who can be associated with this image. Vote for
who is the the most likely representative? Pls, one vote per person.
This is just for fun. For those in Australia this means one (1) vote
person, not one vote for each of many identities. Any and all
anonymous referrals to Bret exclusively will certainly be considered,
but only 1 (one) per person. Editorial comments are welcome.

It's a cross dressing Annika. It must be...I hear Ms. Silverberg saying
"Ooooh it's sooooo *fabulous*, Brent Dahhling! Let's go on a photograph
  theft spree together."

OK., you got your one shot! Now restrain yourself! Lets see what else
we get? Common, be patient, lets see?

Thanks. It was at the Brookfield Zoo in the Chicago area. She was the
Mom. It was a fantastic day! She had just nursed her child. Contrary
to the image, not angry, just.....temporarily relieved....I
think....and  exhausted.

LOL, Now that you have told of the events of the image, I can see the
relief in her eyes. Very good shot. Eyes tack sharp, background OOF
with no disturbing shapes jumping out at the viewer.  Contrast and
color held up very well. Detail of fur and skin of nose well defined.
Even with the opinion toward others were we disagree, you have shown
that you have the skills and means to create wonderful images.

Keep shooting and sharing. I would like to see more from the zoo.
Being near the National Zooligical Park in Washington, DC I have had
some opportunities to capture the pandas and the white tigers playing.
I feel that most of my images don't compete with those who post their
links here. I'm still working on it though.

Shot was in-doors, very little natural light, it was a grab shot.
There is very little DOF with the 400 f2.8.     I still had to shoot
at ASA800, but she was constantly moving. Could not get a tack sharp
shot of her! She and the the child are wonderful! If any of you get to
Chicago, go see them. Mom and child are worth the trip. The old man,
the Silverback,is...priceless also. The child will nurse for three
years (approx). As an endangered species, make the trip folks, it's
priceless.

Whenever I see a post from you, I can be sure of a cheap shot every
time.  It must make you feel like a man to sit in safety behind your
computer screen and defame Bret and me.  The impression I get from you
is a cross between a crying spoiled child and a broken record.  You
are a cynical ogre who takes pleasure in beating down anything that is
beautiful.  My comments for Bret are always of honest praise, because
that's how I feel about his work.  Those names you seem to take
pleasure in labelling me with is so far from the truth that it makes
me wonder why you say it.  Perhaps jealousy?  Or perhaps you are
transferring your feelings about how you defend D-Mac onto me?  Making
you become one of those names you call me.
Last winter you posted a pic that could hardly been seen.  Bret, out
of the goodness of his heart, thought he would help you out and
improve it.  You have the gall to accuse him of being a thief!  Get a
hold of yourself Mike?  Why would he want it?

I object! To speak of him as if you are sure that he is a man is highly
discriminatory to men. I am a man, and I resent being characterized as
having any similarities with the likes of him...."He" could just as easily
be a woman........

I stand corrected!  You could be right Bill, but I've never known a
woman's signature as "mike".
I know of some women called Michael.

I would say someone who posted a photo of a gorilla and suggested it
should remind us of someone is a creep throwing something at someone.

A chickenshit creep who likes being a chickenshit creep. Must be the
poster of the pic.

The fact is, Helen does exactly as m II portrayed. It seems to me Helen is
doing a bit of "Do as I say, not as I do". chastizing. A lot of people when
confronted with examples of their behaviour, get offended and attack the
person providing the example of thier behaviour.

Personally I think the female Gorrilla probably has more appealing looks
than most females I come across on a daily basis. That's just me, I prefer
hairy females! All mine are too woolly!

Actually JJ, I am the first to admit I am a big fan of Bret.  I have
yet to see a bad image.  What is demeaning is being called the names M
ll seems to label me with.  Such as sycophant or lickspittle.  It
means a despicable person who is self serving and only praises to gain
something for themself.  You and the rest of them are dead wrong.   I
want NOTHING from Bret or any soul for that matter.  I praise because
it's in my heart to do so.  Sure, Bret is a good friend and if it
upsets others to see my posts about him, then killfile me.  I could
care less.

It's always hard to shoot an all black animal when their eyes are dark
as well.  You were wise not to use a flash as this probably would have
either scared her or sent her into a frenzy, hurting herself or her
baby.  It's a nice portrait of one of our sadly diminishing endangered
species. What is she chewing on?  It looks like some kind of gold
wrapper made from aluminum.

The zoo puts straw into a large carboard box. They munch on the straw
and even throw it at one another as a game with the little ones. They
also tear apart the box and play with it. We are fortunate in Chicago.
The male has two female companions. Each of the ladies gave birth to a
healthy child, so we now have two new families and an older
"grandmother" low-land gorilla. The species survival it appears will
occur in zoos and not the wild. They are a fabulous animal, I could
watch them for hours on end. I did not use a flash but it would not
frighten them, tourists shoot them all the time with their tiny
strobes. I did want a more natural view but had to shoot at ISO 800
even with a 400mm f2.8wide open.

Helen, ignore them. I also think Bret does good photography. I don't
see much competition photos from the critics. They should post their
stuff and compete or shut up.PUT THEM UP OR SHUT UP!

I have to agree. He could be just as easily be a She. But then again
Ms Helen has always been a lady when speaking to these pompus jackels.
So she is giving this persona the benifit of doubt and addressing it
as He.

Now mike, that wasn't very nice of you. Ms Helen has been nothing if
not nice to those who treat her with respect. Even if we all don't
agree with her opinions, we still respect her. Calling her a thief is
wrong when you have no proof of such an event having ever occured.
So that just leads me to think you have no respect for anyone and
should not receive any. But then that to would be wrong, sir.

On one hand you chastise m II for intimating similarities about somone and
on the other hand do exactly the same thing yourself. Do you have different
standards for different opportunities?
