My Photo For The day started on 22nd May.
It will end on 22 June. One month.

I thought it might attract some interest in Photography but all it's
done is provide more opportunity for the bullies to cast aspersions
and distract me from it's original purpose. Photographic discussions.

Thanks to those who posted positive or constructive replies. An early
death wish to the idiots and morons who decided to use it as a another
reason to bully me.

I imagine Aus. Photo in particular but the rec group too, will slow to
a trickle again as the bullies crawl back under their rocks and wait
for their next victim.

Douglas,
Don't give up the idea of shooting every day. Not everyone has
disliked your images. Most of the folks disliked your attitude towards
constructive criticism. The way you answered and attacked those who
didn't agree with your view, even I had a hard time not jumping on
that wagon.
I have had no problem with your style of photography or of those
who were in your images. There were a couple of times there was a
problem with what I saw and felt it could have been my moniter. Other
times I felt is was a shot that had to be captured right then. Not
having any time to double check horizon, placement in image frame or
even correct exposure( a very few of those).
Only other thing I did notice was that you had nothing nice to say
about any one elses work. Either when they posted a link here or when
the group had a mandate image workshop(?). You had posted several
times to those and some great images. But never do I remember you
giving praise or helpful hints to those other photographers. You might
have given hints and clues to something you did. But no real
information on what it was or how it worked. Either with PS or in the
darkroom or in camera. Why not?
Then you say how miss treated you are and then attack people
who had given their own opinions. If you are going to attack those who
have differing opinions than yours, fine. Attack those opinions, not
the people. If you feel you have been stollen from that stop talking
and do something. If your aren't going to do anything then please,
stop the nonsense.
Douglas, I feel that there have been times when you are on a good
course then all of a sudden you take a ninety degree turn and haul a.s
off topic. What's up with that? Just wondering and not really looking
for an answer.

Keep shooting and doing the work you love. In the end it doesn't
matter what others may think. It doesn't matter what equipment you
have or if you shoot film or digital. What matters is that you are
please with the final product and that the people who are contracting
your services enjoy the work you do. Doesn't matter one rats backside
if any one else doesn't care for your work. SO keep shooting. If you
want to continue to grow photographicly and not become static in your
images, then listen to others. Some may not have a lot to say: others
may have a lot to say. It is up to you to pick what you want and keep.
Because if you stop learning you will become stale and people will
stop seeking you out to shoot their special moments of their lives.

My two cents in all this mess. Hope you will keep posting your POD. I,
for one of many(?) enjoy seeing the work of others.

Hi Draco...
Look at my post of picture and news of the day for but one reason. I
tried to introduce some humor into the childish situation. The only
posts I start that attract any replies are when the bullies attack.
Then their trolls chime in and hi-jack the thread. I think 42 replies
is the current record.

Mark Thomas (for a reason even he can't articulate) has been a pain in
my side for more than 3 years. He originally tried to trick my
Ecommerce server into sending him a camera for payment of the freight
alone. Then he fired a few rounds about my "plain English" warranty
conditions and it went from there into a situation that will only end
with me spending the money I have set aside for a new radar system, on
lawyers to shut him up.

Even the latest attack in Aus.Photo when I responded to his slander
about Photographic permits in Queensland with links to the proof on a
Government web site, he still persists in trying to make his victim
(me) look like the bad guy. I gotta tell you Draco... From where I
sit, he's doing a pretty good job of it too.

Faced with idiots like Bret Douglas who started a chain of events more
suited to a comic book story than what you'd expect from an adult
discussing his 2nd favorite pastime and Mark Morgan who for reasons
not even known to him, took up Bret's case and the bunch of pre-
puberty w.nkers posting ridiculous insults in Aus.photo. I really have
more to do with my life than waste it on these reprobates.

I ordered the Radar today. That should tell you where my priorities
are. I spent the cost of a large house on my boat, I'm now going to
enjoy it. You should never let the turkeys get to you. I did and now I
have trouble laughing.

It's been enjoyable conversing with you Draco but not so much that it
overshadows the damage done by a bunch of lunatics (watch the moon
phase and their behavior) hell bent on destroying what they came to
enjoy. Figure that one out.

Typical scenario .... Douggie makes another one of his "they are
picking on me!" posts and Draco offers some good advice.
Then Doug goes into his usual crying jag about me, Mark Thomas, and
Mark Morgan.  Waah, waah, fuckin waah!

Looks like we won, boys and girls.  Party's at my place!

Cya D-Mac.  We'll all be looking forward to your next incarnation, say
Thursday.  Will it be Julian, again?  Or maybe Photo Critic or
Cryptopix will show up in D-Mac's place?  The excitement is so thick
you can cut it with a knife.

Don't get too excited, Bret.  I can show you at least 4 other "I'm
leaving and won't be back" posts from Douglas over the millenia.  But
hey, any excuse for a party!

And as for the purported trip on his huge yacht - has anyone actually
seen a photo of "Ryadia"?  I've only seen that one of yours, Bret, and
this one:
http://www.ryadia.com/PFF/boys-toy2.htm
.. so I wonder how close they might be to the truth.  he seems to not
have come back with any Samoa images from his last trip while Julian
was lookin' after stuff so well for him.  Where *did* Julian go, after
he got busted as not being at the University of Queensland?

And Doug, does this mean you won't be taking all that action you and
your legal team promised not only me, but Bret, Mark? and others?  I'm
devastated - was really looking forward to finally meeting your legal
eagles.  (O;

Nah, I give him about 2 months or so.  Just enough for *him* to figure
most people will have forgotten all his embarrassing proclamations.
But he should have a few good shots from NZ if he really goes there -
I mean with all that equipment he has, he would have to fluke at least
a dozen or so good ones.  Bring em back and show us, Dougie, like you
didn't with Samoa.

Bon Voyagee, and look out for 'dem pirates...

Completely offtopic - for Doug only.

As if it would surprise anyone - this is ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT of the very
first order.  If Douglas can post a *shred* of evidence of this, I'd
love to see it.  I've never even seen him using an ecommerce server
for selling cameras.. (anyone else?) and I wouldn't go near any
transaction of his with a fifty foot pole and full sewage-worker-
protective-gear.

DOUGLAS, you are one very confused and paranoid person.  Before you
leave, get help.  The first step in healing yourself would be to
realise and admit that you do get stuff like this *horribly* wrong.

Go back through your records, check the claim you made above and then
come back and apologise.  If not, *post the evidence* or remain
flagged as a LIAR forever.

And thanks for the death wish in the original post.  You make it easy
to take the high ground, while watching you make your threats from the
gutter.

Shh Mark!! Don't tell him to get help! He'll be the only man on the
high seas with a crew of twenty...all by himself.

If he starts his meds again, he'll have to hire a whole new crew.

If you look at the responses you got mixed with the insults were some
pretty good advice on how to improve your photos, either when taking
them or in post processing.  Part of the problem that I see is you
take every criticism of your photos as a personal attack.

You seem to take an attitude that there is nothing anyone can teach
you, but if you read the critiques of you the photos you have posted I
think you will see that there is a lot that you can learn from them.

I don't post nearly as many photos as either you or Bret, but when I
do I often will get a statement that starts something like "nice photo
but it is too bad that..." and most of the time I agree with the person
saying it.  Part of the reason to post photos is to get feedback and
improve, can you really say you have not gotten any worthwhile
feedback?
