The two orange dots are just marine markers on the river bank.
As for the farms, they all sold out. The state bought the land at the
tip of the peninsula where the state mental hospital is currently
located. In the middle now rests a golf course and a water sewage
treatment plant.

Nice job Bret. You can also see the high power
lines right behind the marine markers. But what
was that in the background in the 1946 image
back near the far ridge? It looked like a large
building or a stripmine.

Well, if it was here in Oregon, it might very well be Christmas tree farms,
but in Tennessee? More likely it was a change in the government farm subsidy
program rules.....:^)
