I was planning a little project to use a color skopar lens from a
scrapped Vito B ( beautifully over engineered camera that ensured the
demise of the German camera industry) to adapt it to a L39 body....
Cosina Bessa L...sort of ironic innit?

I wondered if the gurus of this group had done anything like this
( once asked a question framed "has anyone done this... and got a
smart-arsed reply)

So... scrapping 50-s camera with a lens that has a diaphragm that is 15
leaves or so should give me beautiful bokeh... right (yes, but
everything is out of focus:-))

Unless you are a very good machinist you are going to have
a lot of problems. How are you going to set up the focusing cam
for example?
For $50 you can buy a Russian Jupiter 8 copy of the Sonnar. Some
dealers (in the US) have even cleaned them up a bit. Otherwise
they may need a cleaning and lubrication.

Scale focussing.. all you have to do is set it up at infinity and the
scale on the lensmount will do it for you.... of course if I were to
use a periflex, it would be easier yet....

I have a Jupiter 8 with my Zorki 4K

David "so I guess the answer is no"
