I have a Contax II where the serial no. starts with the letter Q. Does
anybody know which time period the camera is made?
From this homepage I know that the letter says approx. the year of
manufactory:
http://cameraquest.com/zconrf2.htm
But only the letters: Z, A,B,C,D,E,F,G,J,K,L,M,N are covered.
I wonder if some Contax II's was produced after the war? (not thinking about
the IIa).

Kuc - Auf den Spuren der Contax, band 1, also describes a series O 64001 to
65500 serial, the last 1500 Contaxes in the II-III series.
Are you sure it's a Q?

If it is not a Q it could be an O with a dot just after the O which makes it
look like a Q.
It probably is an O.......after looking at it again. Then the camera should
be from 1942?
My is O. 64103. So it fits in the nr. range.
But it is probably not one of the cameras Cappa used on D-day :-)
Thanks
