Can someone tell me how Nikon marks lenses that are for their digital
cameras? While I have a good selection of AF lenses from 95-2000, I have
been told that some newer  AF lenses are not good in the the 35mm world, and
as this is the case how do I distinguish and avoid them?

The lens designation has a DX in it. DX lenses are for Nikon digital
cameras that all have sensors that are smaller than the standard 35mm
film frame.
