help corrupt Microdrive

Hey all,

I am a newcomer here, but I searched google and forums for an answer to this
question first.

I have been using a 3GB Microdrive with my Rebel XT.  It worked wonderfully.
While I was away I could not back it up, but I also wanted to print a couple
pics for family while I was with them.  I brought the card to a Walgreens,
put it in the reader, saw all pictures that were on it, then decided we
would wait till we travellled back home and print them at home since their
wait was well over the normal 1 or extended 2 hours and we were leaving the
next day.

When I went to place the card in the camera it said the card was invalid, or
busy or Err CF.  Luckily I had extra CF cards to take more pics, but I have
lost the most important family pictures from Thanksgiving Day and before.

I have tried using a couple restore CF Card programs but not one card reader
(tried 2 multi-card readers, and 2 different printer card readers) can
detect it.  If I cannot get it detected and opened I cannot restore
anything.

Does anyone have ANY ideas?  Please please bounce some off me, I will try
anything but opening the card or hacking the card in any way that will make
it impossible to ever try and fix it.

Thanks ahead of time.

Have you tried PhotoRescue?

PhotoRescue has a try before you buy. It will not recover your pictures
until you pay for the program, but you get a preview.

Well checked it out and the problem still is I am unable to access the drive
itself to utilize any software.  I also have Lexar's brand of photo restore
from their 80x CF II cards.

Keep more ideas coming please.  And thanks again CSM.

Can you go back & try Walgreens or whatever you called them? At the very
least make them replace the card.
