How do you rate your digicam's manufacturer?

If you've had the occasion to contact your digicam's manufacturer for support
... how do you rate them? Did they resolve your problem and seem knowledgeable
about the product or did it feel like standing in line at the DMV?

My two recent experiences with Konica-Minolta USA were so frustrating that I am
returning my Z20 to the dealer for a refund. K-M USA does not reply to email
and the phone staff has remarkably little knowledge of the product. Any
question necessitates an "escalation" to a "specialist" who will call back but
never does.

My Z20 does not have a problem at the present time but I am reluctant to own a
product from a company who has shown me that they can not (or do not care to)
support it.

We all appreciate camera reviews but knowing how the camera companies treat
their customers would be REAL valuable information to have before forking over
considerable money for a high dollar camera.

I can say that Olympus has been quite responsive to some rather obscure
questions relating to my C-8080WZ.
One recently was concerning a mode undocumented in the technicial manual.
The camera specialist had access to reasonably current camera models, and
verified that a particuliar command sequence would in fact produce the
desired results.
The camera actually has three USB modes, not just the two that are
documented in the Tech manual. The undocumented mode can be used for remote
control of the camera.

My experience with Olympus has been very good with one exception. When I
had some problems with my 5060 (probably caused by my own carelessness)
my camera dealer sent it in for repair and I had it back within two
weeks, all taken care of under warranty. Other interactions with tech
support to deal with questions and a bad software disc were handled
quickly and politely. My one less than good experience was trying to get
information from them on 5060  mode dial issues; they simply did not
respond to my emails.

This all said, I have been using several different models of Oly digicam
for six years and have had virtually no problems with them despite some
pretty hard use.  I think it's a good company
